As the demands on health care in East Africa continue to expand and become more complex, there is the increasing need for qualified health care professionals: Advanced Practice Nurses, Nurse Educators, and Nurse Administrators. To counteract this gap, the EDULINK project INEPEA has developed the Master of Science in Nursing degree curriculum that will be implemented by its partner institutions of higher learning in East Africa. 

This graduate degree programme is a progression of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) currently offered at Aga Khan University East Africa, Kenyatta University, and Makerere University. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who have completed their BScN or related undergraduate degree to transition smoothly into graduate studies. The graduate programme seeks to target leaders, teachers and those with post-basic qualifications, preparing them for practice.

This curriculum represents the collaborative work of the partners and associate INEPEA project institutions, the Health Ministries of Kenya, Professional Associations, and Nursing and midwifery Councils of Kenya, Uganda, and United Republic of Tanzania, the Knowledge Management and Sharing Team of the WHO-Geneva, the University of Iowa, and the INEPEA Technical Experts.
